NO MOW CAMPAIGN

NO MOW CAMPAIGN

Say NO (S) to excessively mowing the lawn, and plant native wildflowers to save the bees!

We've lost most of our flower meadows, which provide important food to bees, butterflies, and pollinators. No Mow is also important outside our gardens. Patches of grass along the road and on roundabouts can grow beautiful native wildflowers!

NO MOW BY THE NUMBERS

We've lost nearly 97% of our flower-rich meadows, providing food to bees, butterflies and pollinators, and homes to creatures

We have over 20 million gardens in the UK, which could be providing habitats to creatures and insects who are essential to the ecosystem

There are over 270 different types of bees in the UK which can be supported by flowers

WHY NO MOW?

1.     Supporting Biodiversity: Allow wildflowers to bloom and provide habitats to creatures

2.     Environmental Impact: Less mowing means lower carbon footprint and reduced fossil fuel usage

3.     Water Conservation: Grass and flowers absorb and hold water, reducing the need for excessive  watering

No Lawn? No Problem.

There are many ways to get involved in the campaign, even if you don't have a lawn!

1.     Ask your teacher if some space can be left for nature and grow wildflowers this year

2.     Talk to your neighbours and community about joining the No Mow campaign

3.     Talk to your local council to participate

4.     You can still encourage wildflowers and wildlife in a garden pot instead!
