The Built Environment

How do our urban (as well as rural) environments look and operate as they do? What is the process of urban planning, the carbon footprint of materials? In this thinklopedia topic area we will explore case studies of new ways of thinking about the planning for a regenerative society. This research will cover architecture, building materials, urban and rural transport systems and civic spaces.

We will look at how to create human scale environments that can offer experiences and structures that coexist with the natural world and other humans within planetary boundaries.
