Leisure

We think of our lives as divided into work and leisure time. These are no longer useful binaries in a world of technological advancements with robots taking over many manual as well as managerial jobs that were once done by humans. In this topic we will focus on our thinking around leisure time and non work time and how this impacts on our behaviours and thus on our ecosystems.

As well as exploring the history and geographical differences of how humans have explored leisure, this topic will cover case studies of new ways of being to inspire ideas around how we might live in the future as regenerative communities who have a lower impact on our planetary resources.

What is the future for shared experiences around sport and as well culture and the arts, how will technology influence these experiences and how will we travel and communicate as an expanding global population to ensure that we have open minds and sustainable ecosystems for future generations.
